General Guidelines for Generative AI / LLM Usage:

Do's:

• Use ONLY Ford-approved ("enterprise" or "commercial licensed") versions of generative AI tools.
• Use your creativity and knowledge of our business to identify ways approved AI tools can help deliver better products and experiences for our customers and improve internal productivity.
• Verify outputs before relying on them for business decisions, code, or customer-facing content.
• Report suspected data leaks, unusual model behavior, or suspicious tool requests to Cyber Security immediately.

Don'ts:

• Do not use any "free" or public/consumer versions of AI tools (e.g., public ChatGPT, public Gemini, public Copilot, or other consumer LLM offerings) for Ford business.
• Do not use your @ford.com email or Ford credentials to create personal/free accounts with external AI vendors.
• Do not input Ford IP, PII, financial data, source code, or any sensitive/confidential information into any AI tool unless it is a Ford-approved instance verified as safe for that data classification.
• Generative AI is an evolving and imperfect technology. Do not blindly trust AI-generated output. Please consider:
  • Hallucinations: AI models can generate plausible-sounding but factually incorrect or fabricated information. Always verify important outputs against trusted sources.
  • Bias: Models can reflect biases present in their training data, which may affect fairness or accuracy of outputs.
